Sarah & I had our first Girl Scout Camporee. 10 girls & their moms from Sarah's Brownie troop, plus about 180 other moms & daughters from our area in Alpharetta.
The weekend included cabins, staying up late, swinging bridges, panning for gems, a nature hike, canoeing, swimming in the lake, and s'mores.
Sarah & I decided that we are not lake people, there are no pictures of her sobbing in front of the canoe that I made her ride with me in! Other than the lake, she had a blast!
"The Porch Girls" photo refers to the fact that my friends & I were the last to arrive and the availabilty of bunks was limited. We decided to sleep in the bunks out on the porch. Listening to the rain. Yes, rain. However, the porch was where we also drank our smuggled wine!
We also cheated on the last day by heading out early, skipping the dining hall breakfast and moving our butts to Waffle House! Funny thing is, a few minutes later, more joined us from the group (including the leader!)
Sarah had a blast, and that was the important thing!
