Summer's Winding Down

Well, summer is almost over for me. I went to school today to pick up my $ from the governor & worked in my classroom w/ Emma for 2 hours. It's not really all my room at this point---they are storing the fridge, copy machine, table & chairs from the teacher workroom in there. Great! Hopefully, that will be removed by the time the kids start! The least they could do is fill up the fridge with some tasty snacks or something!
Here's how we're spending every afternoon this week!

A Day at the Pool

Sometimes nothing to do can be rough.

the basement work continues

This is what you see when you turn to the left at the bottom of the stairs
The pink rectangle in the back will be a closet in the bedroom.
Sarah sleeping (not related to the basement, but so cute!)

As Sarah is sleeping, Emma is wide awake & ready for action!

We Belong at the Zoo

Judy got free tix for the zoo this past weekend. She took her kids & I took the girls!

Naked mole rats...just like Kim Possible...ewww!

Summer Fun & Festivities

Last week, I took Emma to the library for story time & firetruck safety. She was not so thrilled about hanging out in the fire truck. The firemen came to our neighborhood for the Fourth of July Parade. All of the kids LOVED that. Also, Sarah knocked out one of her front teeth.

Beware the basement............

Here is the basesment in various stages of digging, framing, & general messiness!
We're adding a bathroom (hence the dirt in the corner.) The tree that the previous owners painted will be behind a wall. However, if you ever need to get to the emergency water shut off, you can still see the tree!
It's hard to describe the pictures --- they kind of all look the same to me. Maybe in a few weeks when we get drywall up you can tell what everything is more.
